Trick or treat!

Halloween went off better than expected. The doctor gave Luis the OK to go out as long as he wasn't handling the candy that is covered with germs from multiple sources. I bought him an Iron Man costume and made a Captain America costume for Julien to match.

When it came time to get dressed up, Luis told me that he only liked Iron Man toys, not costumes. The picture of Luis above was from a couple weeks ago. He wanted to wear his race car driver costume from last year. After a little coaxing to go matchy matchy with his brother, I let him have his way.

With only the cold to really deal with, my mom and I took the boys trick or treating up and down the street. Luis had a great time. Julien started to get cranky and my mom took him home. When Luis and I were about 6 houses from home, he started to complain about his sore legs. This is one of the side effects that I noticed most often with this last phase of chemo. We passed that last houses and I carried Luis home to check out his treats. Like I said, it went better than I expected. I didn't think the doctor would approve.
