It turns out that the expression "Crappy Anniversary" will take on a double meaning. Not only will May 16 always be that day I learned my son had cancer, but it was also be that day that we lost our 89.9 year old Pepe.
Pepe was a gentle man. As a child, I remember him working in his garage, around the house and in his huge field. I never saw him angry or raise his voice. He always had a grin on his face. He left behind generations of family to carry on his spirit.
We'll miss you Pepe.
