This month has been insane for illnesses. So far, we and everyone around us has had at least one round of illnesses involving fevers and colds. Luis has had three separate rounds of fevers in November. His most recent fever last week topped out at 40C (104F). We were lucky that his immunity was high enough to fight the infection and he did not have to stay inpatient. It seems there are tons of things going around at the day care and school. Over the last month, I've seen reports of strep throat, scarlet fever, croup, pink eye, hand-foot-mouth, chicken pox (not in Luis' class!), impetago,....Like seriously! Come on already.
On the bright side, Christmas is coming soon and Luis is pumped. He can't stop talking about Santa coming and how excited he is to get lots of presents. He already saw two Santa Clauses. Of course they weren't the real Santa. They were 'Santa's helpers'. But he is looking forward to the real Santa Claus coming. He is trying to the take the lyrics "You better watch out, you better not cry...." literally and to be on his best behaviour for Santa. He already got his first Christmas present, our pretty kitty that we adopted from the Humane Society. She is so cute and cuddly. The kids love playing with her.
Luis was so confused when I told him it was an early Christmas present. He thought that was the end of Christmas and Santa skipped our house. When I explained there were still many more days and many more gifts to come, he was happy.
We also went to a Christmas party with ChildCan (awesome organization, support them here!) and the boys got their first toys of the Christmas season. I guess it's better that their gifts are spread out so they can enjoy them more. I was surprised that the kids didn't cry for Santa. Luis is usually afraid of people in large costumes. Although from this picture, you can see that they were somewhat apprehensive, especially Julien :)

PS - Our little friend with the brain tumour is doing much better. The tumour was benign and completely removed. He is home and on the road to recovery. Thanks for your prayers.
