Making plans

MOMMY:

Ever have one of those days where you think, “Wow, is this really my life?” Sometimes it’s hard to believe this is all real. It’s certainly not what I expected when I mapped out what my adult life would look like. Someone once told me "If you want to make God laugh, make a plan".  I guess the joke is on me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sulking everyday with a "why me?" pity party. I know I have a lot to be thankful for, like amazing kids, Canadian health care, friends and family.  As a whole, yes, what my family is going through sucks, but we’re getting through it and trying to find happy times through it all.

My mom has practically moved in and she lightens the workload a lot. You would think I’m used to having two kids by now, but it turns out that they get more demanding as they grow and more angry when they’re sick. My mother-in-law has even stepped in to relieve my mom a few nights. I guess we all need a break sometimes. I am really grateful to you both, Mémé and Abuela. Thanks.

On a side note, I'm still waiting for my break, whenever Julien starts liking formula. My biggest success was Julien taking a sippy cup with water. He likes the cup, but doesn't like when I pull a switcheroo with formula. I've tried three brands of formula so far, Enfamil A+ (the powder, the concentrate, and straight up), Similac Advance Omega 3 & Omega 6 (powder), and Nestle Goodstart (powder and pre-made), all with no luck. I want to try all kinds of brands to appease his finicky taste buds but it gets pricey at $20-$50 per can (or case). If anyone has any other kinds of formula that you have lying around that I could try, I would appreciate if you contacted me. I would only need enough for a 4 oz bottle. If he takes that, I'd buy a ton of it. Or if you know anyone who has a baby, maybe you could ask for a couple scoops. I really don't need much. I know my mommy friends will help me out here!
