MOMMY:
It was supposed to be a big day for Luis' academic career, graduation day.| Luis on Graduation Day |
Luis was supposed to 'graduate' from the Casa program today at the Children's House Montessori. That's a big step. JK was waiting for us in September, until everything changed. There was supposed to be a big hoopla at one of the city's banquet halls tonight. Obviously, we couldn't make it. Instead, we were pleased to receive many special gifts from Luis' classmates and teachers. The class gave him 'Curious George', a Build-A-Bear that was donated for Luis. They even recorded a special message for Luis that could be heard when you squeeze the monkey's arm. I couldn't really understand what they were saying but I heard a lot of kids! Miss Rosalba, a little help??
Each member of Luis' class also contributed their artwork to a giant banner. It says "We built a bear for you from hearts to yours". I haven't decided where to hang it yet, but it will find a home. He also received a gift bag from Teach N' Toys. So far, his favourite toy from the bag is the wand filled with sparkles and water where the sparkles slowly trickle from one end to the other when you flip it. As you can see, he received lots of activities to keep him occupied.

Luis also loved a special message from Mr. B from his school who plays the guitar every Monday for Luis' class. Mr. B made a special DVD just for Luis with him playing guitar and singing some awesome kid songs. Luis was rocking out when he watched it! I got a little teary. Thanks Mr. B!
We were so touched to receive cards and gifts from individual families of Luis' friends as well. It is amazing how people come together in crisis. Even at my former workplace Deloitte, I couldn't believe how people came together to support us. Really, I am so appreciative for all the love and kindness sent our way. It feels good to know that people are thinking of us and want to help.
What else can I say but "Thanks".
